Energy Smart Home

The Home & Garden Idea Fair is your place to discover the latest trends in energy efficient home building and remodeling products and services and to learn more about not wasting energy in your home.
The 2014 Energy Smart Home display, built by New Tradition Homes, featured the latest and greatest new technology in energy-efficient building materials and appliances for your home. The display will included:
  • Energy-efficient lighting
  • Tankless solar and hybrid water heating systems
  • Ductless heat-pump system
  • Air source heat-pump system
  • Photovoltaic solar generating system
  • Energy Star appliances
  • Residential plug-in hybrid car charging station with the Nissan Leaf provided by Alan Webb Auto Group with an opportunity to take a test drive.
New Tradition Homes showcased their New Generation of floor plans designed with innovation and livability in mind. Representatives from New Tradition Homes were on hand to share 25 new home plans developed for the modern family's lifestyle.

You could visit with an Energy Counselor from Clark Public Utilities to learn how to outsmart energy waste. You can also sign up for a free home energy audit to learn more about your personal energy consumption.
Thanks to PSC Environmental Services, fair guests are able to recycle their old CFL bulbs at the entrance gates and receive a voucher for up to six new CFL bulbs in the Clark Public Utilities display inside the Exhibition Hall. You can learne more about the energy-saving benefits of CFL bulbs and the importance of recycling these bulbs properly.
